Aus Simbabwe zurück

Vergangene Woche kehrte unser Ausschuss-Mitglied und Schriftführer Herbert Höfer gesund und wohlbehalten aus Simbabwe zurück; vom 21. September bis 12. Oktober 2022 besuchte er im Auftrag der KMG etliche Projekte und bewältigte ein umfangreiches Programm.

Seit einem Jahr ist Herbert Höfer im Ausschuss der KMG Schriftführer und betreut als gelernter EDVler engagiert unser Netzwerk sowie die Homepage. Simbabwe ist ihm bestens vertraut. Von 1985 bis 1988 war er Lehrer an der Dadaya High School, etwa 100 km westlich von Masvingo. Dort unterrichtete er hauptsächlich Physik und Mathematik in der Sixth Form, d. h. für A Level (Abitur) aber auch Mathematik und Science in Form 3 und Form 4 für O Level (Mittlere Reife).

Nach 34 Jahren führte ihn der Weg zurück nach Simbabwe, zu Bischof Nyandoro nach Gweru, zu den Patenkindern und Schwestern in der Mission Bondolfi sowie nach Masvingo, wo er u. a. mit Edward Mukaratirwa von der Stadtverwaltung sprach. Auch besichtigte er die von der KMG finanzierten Brunnen in Sipambi und Mapfumo Village und sammelte bei einem Ausflug zum Lake Mutirikwi und zu den Great Zimbabwe Ruins neue Eindrücke.
